Will this assist in reducing my Insurance claims?
- Insurance companies know that there are risks of each category of driver, the greatest risk is young drivers, they have the highest fatal crash risk of any age group. The premiums to insure new drivers are so high. A care free attitude combined with little driving experience cause young drivers to take many unnecessary risks behind the wheel. This has lead to the unfortunate statistic that vehicle accidents are the number one cause of death for young drivers.
- So where does Safe DriverCheck ™ assist? It allows you to non-intrusively monitor the driving behaviour of the driver. The good news is by utilising this as a continued proactive approach, and the driver being fully aware that Safe DriverCheck™ is installed this will ensure the driver drives more responsibly, and can be used in conjunction with driver training.
- This proactive approach allows individuals and businesses to act in a positive manner by rewarding good driving behaviour rather than reactively to poor or reckless driving. The motivation for your driver to drive safe is not to lose driving privileges or ultimately their licence.
- Blackbox Telematics are committed to working with businesses and individuals to ensure the road becomes a safer place for all and to get their customers using Safe DriverCheck™ and ultimately reducing claims and in return premiums.
How is this installed?
- Well that that’s the best part of all; there is no complicated installation instructions or anything to hard wire to the vehicle. This is a simple plug and use device. The unit plugs into the engine management system of the vehicle, you sync the hand set with the unit and it’s as easy as that.
- The hand held unit can be kept with the vehicle keys or held by a third party until the vehicle returns to base/home to be re synced. The hand held unit requires a 4 digit pin number to reset the speed, distance and sudden braking results and cannot be tampered with by the driver.
- If the driver unplugs the unit in the vehicle again when re synced it will provide you with a tamper message on the fob unit. So we believe this is a very cost effective way of recording key information and providing the best possible return on investment, the ability to potentially save a life.
